Investment Management

First Midwest Wealth Management’s investment philosophy can be summed up in two words — Quality and Consistency. Our investment process is dynamic and actively managed to respond to changing market conditions while meeting the goals of our clients.2

Our investment discipline is best represented by the equity selection process used for our equity strategies. The goal is to exceed the assigned benchmark for the targeted asset classes, and our method employs a number of factors, including our proprietary screening process:

Our Globally Enhanced Management Strategy (GEMS) pursues a flexible top-down approach to access a broader opportunity set — expanding beyond the traditional stock and bond asset allocation to include global stocks, bonds, currencies and commodities.2

GEMS seeks to participate in positions in any of the world’s major capital markets. We consider both economic adjustment themes as well as shorter-term technical conditions when choosing trading positions. GEMS may invest in multiple markets in anticipation of expected market movements. These movements may result from forecasted shifts in world economies, political changes or global supply and demand imbalances. Investment vehicles and styles will differ across time.

Our portfolio management2 process is dynamic, but also cognizant of the financial objectives of our clients. We take into consideration the current and expected economic conditions, as well as tax considerations1 when making investment decisions. Our investment management professionals regularly review the portfolios and make the appropriate changes to ensure it is aligned with the stated goals of the client:

First Midwest Wealth Management also uses sub-advisors who have met our screening process – stressing quality and consistency. These subadvisors are continuously monitored for performance and appropriateness. Our vigilance provides assurance that, as market conditions change, the portfolio will change accordingly.
